I just realized the Ron Paul thread is gone. While not as extensive as Beebs thread, that was my baby.
I'll let trends speak for themselves and Ron Paul is STILL the most searched candidate by far. ![]() ^Worldwide ![]() ^Republican candidates in Iowa (where first major GOP event (straw poll) happens next month) This is very good news for Ron Paul supporters. The campaign is flooding the polls that day. If all goes to plan, he'll finish in at least 4th and generate double digits in percentage of votes. This will force the media to acknowledge him as a top tier candidate (which the media refuses to do) and then the campaign will be a snowball rolling downhill. So this event in Iowa is kind of a big deal. ![]() |

I did not claim the two are correlated. His biggest stiff is that the media will not recognize him as a credible candidate, thus give him no attention. This creates a lack of voters knowing about him. In case you haven't heard, the media likes to pick the candidates whom they wish to win. This is the reasoning for me posting the two charts.
I mainly support the man because he is an avid follower of the Constitution and no other candidate is. Through all the debates, he has proved he is the only candidate who doesn't think he knows more than the founders and wishes to correct the fascist path our country is headed down. A quote I love from the movie V for Vendetta: "Everytime I've seen this country change, it's been for the worse." I'd like to see a change for the better. |

So I caught something on Glenn Beck (I'm a talk radio junkie) about Ron wanting to abolish the IRS, which was nothing new as its been a mainstay of most Libertaians and makes some sense in theory, but then they mentioned that he also wants to abolish the FBI and CIA. Now, before I judge this, what was the context of the statement? Was it something along the lines of abolishing them and replacing them with something more effecient, or just flat out getting rid of them? I assume the former, but would like to see some sort of video of it and can't find the exact one I'm looking for.

Essentially the way he described it in the debates was that he wants to get rid of a lot of governmental departments because more bureaucracy is inefficient. He used the example of how the FBI and CIA had the intel on the terrorists plotting 9/11 but the gov didn't act, so what do they do? Create a whole new dept in homeland security. It's redundant and just adds more bureaucracy. Now his reasons for getting rid of the IRS are different, obviously, but that's for another post. My understanding about the FBI and CIA is that first and foremost he wants to stop the the sacrifice of personal freedoms and liberties for security, which in my opinion makes sense, as it seems like an oxymoron to continue going down the path we are. He has said he wouldn't get rid of the dept's all together, but there would be drastic makeovers. I imagine they would decrease in size and increase in effeciency. He acknowledged that the President needs intel coming in, but he needs intelligent people within intel depts.

The only way I’d seriously consider voting Republican, is if someone like Ron Paul won the nomination. I’m SICK of the neo cons and the social cons... They are as controlling and communistic as they "portray" the democrats to be.
One wants to control every aspect of your private life, the other wants to aggressively wage wars around the world in an attempt to convert everyone to their ideology. It’s ironic how much they seem every bit as aggressive and paranoid as the very enemy the so vehemently fought against, the Soviet Union. Go Libertarians please retake the hijacked Republican Party. Then and only then will I consider switching my vote. |

The day is here. Since the sun rose across America, Paul has raised $250k/hr in the 'money bomb' plot. We still have the evening to push through, but it the first 12 hours of this November 5th fundraiser, Paul has already brought in more than Huckabee did ALL of last quarter. By the time you read this, he'll have raised more this quarter than all of last quarter (1 month into it.) If you had any plans of donating any more to this campaign, please do it today on his website. The media is already taking notice of this massive fundraising attempt. Imagine if we succeed...
