COME ON YOU YANKS

Every now and then, a word, its meaning, and its relation to its root word will blow my mind.
For example, incredible means not credible...as in, so fucking amazing that it can't be real. Fantastic means it must be fantasy because it's out of this world. Miserable means like a miser. Who wants to be like a miser? Not this guy. How about disease? It's something that takes away a person's ease. Fuck me sideways. Also, I learned the other day that goodbye used to be shorthand for god be with ye, which makes sense since adios translates to "to god." God damned words, man. |
