If more states continue to legalize medicinal/recreational use it will become increasingly difficult for federal authorities to enforce federal laws regarding marijuana. In addition to the difficulty of enforcement, the increasing cost will make federal laws hard to defend as part of the budget. It would absolutely make more sense to do major law reform, but it will likely change incrementally.

Fuckin Obama man. He could have stopped his DOJ from going after poker and legal medicinal marijuana operations but he sat beside and did nothing. Weed was great when he could use his experiences with it to sound "cool" in his campaign/auto-biography, but he continues to permit an asinine war on the industry. Fuck Obama.

The unions agreed to major concessions during the Hostess' first bankruptcy. A receiving clerk that was making $48,000 a year before the concessions, had his pay cut to $34,000. How would you feel if someone cut your pay by $14,000?

Hostess had been in decline for years. They tried to offer products to meet the changing needs of the consumer, but their efforts failed. They couldn't adapt to the market place.

The median salary for a shipping and receiving clerk in the US is $32,471, so at $34,000, he's still well above average. At $48,000 a year, he was in the top 1% salary range for that particular occupation. With salary and wages expenses like that plus other compensation expenses, it's no wonder Hostess went out of business.

You can't blame it solely on the unions. Sure, they are a part of it, but the failing business model is ultimately what did it.

This article is factually incorrect and rather embarrassingly so. The CEO who supposedly received a large raise was former CEO Driscoll, not current CEO Greg Rayburn. Within a matter of weeks after the change in Driscoll's compensation package, he was fired and replaced with Rayburn. This occurred in March of this year. Shortly after Rayburn took over as CEO, he cut his salary to $1 for the remainder of the year.

If I were Mr. Rayburn, I would be rather upset by this libelous article. I suggest the author issue a correction to this factually incorrect article and redact portions that impugn Mr. Rayburn's integrity.

It's really a shame to see such sloppy reporting.
